It's Tea Time
I love hot drinks. They taste good, they keep your hands warm, and a lot of them contain caffeine, which I can't get through the day without. They also have that ultimate coziness factor on cold rainy days.
While all hot drinks are cozy and comforting, perhaps the coziest of all is tea – in particular, these seven flavours of tea.
7. Orange Spice
This falls at number seven because I don't typically associate orange flavour with snuggling up under a blanket. However, I do associate that with cinnamon and other spices, and it turns out that orange & spice is a winning combination. Who knew?
You can buy this tea for about $5, or make your own version from black tea and fresh ingredients using this recipe.
6. Chamomile
I tried chamomile tea for the first time six years ago and instantly fell in love with it. I"m placing it at number six because while I don't specifically associate it with Fall, I definitely do associate it with relaxing and staying warm on a cold day.
You can buy this tea for under $5, or this lemongrass version for about a dollar more.
5. Earl Grey Vanilla
.
I'm a fan of regular earl grey – especially as part of a London Fog – but there's something about the addition of vanilla that just makes it so much be/tter.
You can buy this tea for about $3 and check out this recipe for how to make a London Fog.
4. Spiced Plum
Spiced plum seemed like an odd choice for a tea flavour when I first heard it, but it's actually exquisite. Much like orange spice, it took a taste that I wouldn't normally associate with Fall and coziness, and made it perfect for a rainy day.
You can buy this tea for about $4.50, or this looseleaf tea for a little under $6/oz.
3. Cinnamon Chai
I think that any kind of chai tea is perfect for Fall, but cinnamon chai in particular just screams cozy. Or, rather, it gently says cozy. Either way, it's one of my favourite Fall drinks.
You can buy this tea for about $7.50, or follow this recipe to make your own.
2. Cinnamon Apple
This tea is sort of like a liquid apple pie. It utilizes a classic Fall flavour combination, and it does it perfectly. Grab your favourite ceramic mug and your fluffiest blanket and settle back with a hot cup of Fall bliss.
You can buy this tea for about $5, or follow this recipe to make a cinnamon apple latte.
1. Pumpkin Spice Chai
Like I said before, I think that any kind of chai tea is perfect for Fall. Pumpkin Spice Chai, however, has to take the cake. It's the perfect flavour of tea to sit back with some caramel corn and a horror movie and celebrate spooky time.
You can buy this tea for under $5 or follow this recipe to make a pumpkin chai latte.
